FAQs

  • Not necessarily. Royal Caribbean strongly recommends that all guests travel with a valid passport. If a guest either misses the ship at its scheduled U.S. departure port and needs to travel outside the U.S. to meet the ship, or unexpectedly needs to depart the ship from a foreign port prior to the end of the cruise, a passport would be required to leave or re-enter the U.S. by air.

  • A passport is the best travel document to carry to cruise to the Caribbean, Bermuda, Alaska and other countries. If you do not have a passport, in most cases, a birth certificate and a government-issued State ID are acceptable documents. Guests under the age of 16 will NOT need a government-issued state ID. Learn more about requirements.

  • Due to limitations of medical care, both on board and in various ports of call, women who have entered or exceeded their 24th week of pregnancy, at any time during the cruise, will not be allowed to board or sail with the ship.

  • Please note that with the exception of Wine and Champagne, all guests are prohibited from bringing alcohol onboard our ships. If you purchase any alcohol at one of our ports-of-call or in our onboard shops, we will safely store your purchase(s), and either on the final night of the cruise or the morning of debarkation, it will be available for pick up in a designated area. On boarding day, guests may bring onboard two (2) 750 ml bottles of personal wine or champagne per stateroom in their carry-on luggage.

  • Although vaccines are not required, we encourage all guests, 5 years of age and older, to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines, when eligible, and carry proof of vaccination. Testing is not required for either vaccinated or unvaccinated guests. However, we encourage all guests, 5 years and older, to take a pre-cruise COVID-19 test within three days of their cruise.

  • Travel insurance provides financial reimbursement for trip cancellation, interruption and delay resulting from covered reasons such as illness or bad weather; and for baggage loss and/or delay. It also provides medical insurance and medical evacuation benefits when covered parties become ill or injured while traveling. Travel Insurance is provided by Allianz Global Assistance.
